From Graduate to Mentor

I graduated from the Running Start High School Program in 2017, and the training I received there shaped how I think about leadership and about running for public office. It also welcomed me into a wide network of alumnae and supporters who continue to strengthen one another.

Last summer I had the pleasure of mentoring a new cohort through the High School Program, meeting a group of passionate, ambitious young women who are already making their mark. During a networking reception, we were joined by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, who offered insightful remarks about leadership and about being a woman in politics.

The Running Start High School Program was an essential step in my own journey toward becoming an advocate, and I look forward to watching what this next cohort accomplishes.
